The Problem With the Water Industry's Privatisation
The water companies monitor their own sewage outflows. They self-report, and they've been doing that for the past 10 years. So we don't actually know how much sewage is flowing into rivers or beaches. And this is directly as a consequence of the way the water industry was privatised all those years ago. The public are angry enough now that they're looking at the penalties.
