Sharia and the Stateless Modern Society
There are parts of the Islamic law that still exists in Saudi Arabia but it's really a compromise between that and modern law. When people today say that they want to introduce Sharia into their system they aren't really doing it but they're really proposing is to take some of the features of the traditional law and make them into state law. As long as all disputes are intra communal among people who are all following the same legal system there's no problem.
