Punished by Rewards is about the idea of intrinsic motivation being really important and extrinsic motivation being something that you can't actually easily have at the same time as intrinsic motivation. If you provide people with a reward then what happens is they become less intrinsically motivated to carry out what they're doing, he says. This is particularly bad in the case of education because you want people to love learning so that they do more of it. Eventually I'll deal with that more directly but at the moment yeah about Punished by Rewards basically this is about the Idea of Intrinsic Motivation Being Really Important.
