The Importance of Moses and Elijah

John 1 is so offensive to the Jew because Jesus shows up in John 1 and says this no man has seen the father at any time. You see how this messes with people? Why because Moses is not a pure expression of the heart and nature of the father only Jesus is. So I'm going to have to deal with Moses worshipers. This is what Jesus is dealing with. And it shows up again at Transfiguration where Moses and Elijah show up and Peter wants to make Moses and Elijah equal to Jesus by building the same tabernacle for all three of them. The most important two voices Israel had ever had were present and he said they're quiet now he's talking.
