Introduction
The people of nineveh believed god. They called for a fast and put on sackcloth. When god saw what they did, how they turned from their evil way, god lented of the disaster that he had said he would do to them,. And he did not do it. In jonah, chapter three, we have the second sending of jonah; now he goes directly to the city of nineveh. The king of nineveh arose from his throne, removed his robe, covered himself with sackcloth and sat in ashes. Perhaps we should take jonah's compliance on this occasion a sign of his repentance.
