Theological Reasons for the Assyrian Distruction

The people of Israel had sinned against the Lord, their God. They feared other gods and walked in the customs of the nations whom the Lord drove out before them. The sins that led to this destruction are really just a sin; there's no mention of theft or adultery. And by feared other gods, this is not an emotional word. All those things are included in fear.
