The Bottleneck of Serverless Media Service Conversion

We design our initials, this solution as a distributed system using serverless. The way we use the some components causes to hit a hard scaling limit at 5% of the expected load. Our service performed multiple state transitions for every second of stream that I didn't understand exactly what like what is the state transition? Maybe it's an AWS thing that I don't know about. We quickly reached our account limit beside that AWS function charges users per state transitions.
