The Pain of a Beehive
Africanized bees are an aggressive, violent hybrid species originally from sub-Saharan Africa. They were first brought to Brazil in the 1950s and began crossbreeding with local bee populations. In 1990 they crossed the US border and began colonizing the southwest. Their hives can number nearly 100,000 bees and they will send every last stinging female out to attack.
