The Inciting Incident in Exodus

In Exodus chapter 3, Moses saw that though the bush was on fire, it did not burn up. He hears God speaking to him and he takes off his shoes because this ordinary place has become extraordinary by the sudden and startling awareness of the presence of the living God. You know that awkward moment when you're in conversation with somebody and you learned their name earlier in the conversation, but now you realize that you've forgotten it? There are two safe ways out when you get in that moment.
