The Ethereum Merge

Last week, of course, we discussed the ethereum merge. It wasn't really two things merging; it was more one big thing. Before the switch over, ou ithereum was consuming approximately 72 terrawat hours per year of people mining and running the network. That apparently is approximately as much power as the entire country of austria. After the switchover, that was calculated to represent nort point three four % of the total global energy consumption of everythingf everybody,. no just living and existing and consuming. So after the switch, the electricity consumption of the whole network has been estimated to have been down by 99 point nine nine%.
