The Evolution of Monogamy
Do you think monogamy as we once knew it is dead or that it never even existed? Well, monogamy is a word that has continuously changed meaning throughout history. We use the same word, but it has meant completely different things. For most of history, monogamy had nothing to do with love or with sex. It was an imposition primarily on women in order to know which children the man needs to feed and who will get his inheritance when he dies. Today, there is a conversation about wanting consensual monogamy rather than monogamy that is imposed.
