Grace Is Only Ever Exciting to the Needy and the Helpless
If the disciples had seen themselves as children, they wouldn't have gotten in the way. That's what god is trying to do in your heart. He's trying to move you from the delusions of your adulthood to produce in you the heart of a child. There's another irony here, and it should scare you. It's this, that those who convince themselves that they deserve grace seldom seek it.
