Everything Is Water, or the Land Floats on Water
There's no evidence that thales said everything is water. Yet the exploration of the natural world, as i think you mention, was kind of the point of philosophy. And we see a similar type of vie, only with air instead of water, in anaximones,. Later my lesian philosopher, one generation in between them. So it makes sene of anaximander is looking back at thale's saying, the earth emerged out of water and thinking, why would the dry come from the wet?
