Black trans people face extraordinary barriers just a kind of existing. Transphobia and resisting, if you like, transphobia have an inherent link. Both are about biological essentialism, about rooting a social construct that is used to exploit people. Gender is a large social construct that involves us all. Race is a different kind of historical social construct that only affects certain people.
