Churchill's Attitudes

Churchill's first-hand experience of the British Raj did not strike him that way. He admired the way the British had brought internal peace for the first time in Indian history, as well as railways and mass education. It gets us to a very interesting issue because I think that even a few years ago, if we'd been discussing Churchill, being discussing anything to do with his leadership, his reputation, it would have been in one tone. That would have been only of praise, admiration, awe, and much more. And in our own time, very, very swift order, that has completely turned around.
