I've Had a Lot of Heated Discussions With Other Writers About Passive Protagonists
A lot of my main characters are more observers an doers. I tend to be very much about sympathizing with the other rather than just shooting it in the head. With the sort of character who is trying not to be involved, you have a lot more time to work at what's going on and to stop and think. Those are far more useful protagonists to have. You now have several parallel series on the go at once. Each of wich is really throws the ball of world building very, very far towards the boundary.
