A hierarchy of goals can get you from short term to long term. But remember goal is a proxy for a cost benefit analysis, right? I'm going to do this thing, but that's going to cost me the ability to do other things. So we have to remember that when you decide to pursue something that you're deciding it's worthwhile in comparison to the other things that you might pursue.
