Meta pc, a company that's been around for around a year, applied for a trade mark for the name meta back this past august. The owners of meta pic, zack shutt and joe darger, say they're willing to part with the rights to the name of meta for a cool 20 million dollars. facebook plans to continue to rely on facial recognition technology as it builds out its metavers products.
