Social Workers and Police Collaborations

Charles, Terry: We have been collaborating with law enforcement for decades. And it really has not led to very meaningful change in the sense that we continue to see the same racist violent outcomes despite our collaborations with them. I think now is a time where we need to acknowledge that we've tried to reform. and at this point, we're complicit. Charles says social workers are already not viewed as helpful by many communities of color do primarily to our role in family separation,. which is done disproportionately in black communities.
