The Negative Impact of Tiktok's Algorithm on Online Publishing
Tiktok is creating its own publishing arm where it presumably is going to leverage the algorithm on its own behalf. One would assume if they're putting their thumb on the scale for the books that they produce there will be a negative impact on attempts to influence tiktok users to sell other kinds of books or books from other producers. "I think it falls into the same kind of logical fallacy that we see happen on whatever the social media thing of the year is," he says.
