The Story of Police Reform in the US
All the things that people call for after these incidents pretty much had already happened in Memphis. People say, only if we had more black officers, we wouldn't see white officers and perpetrating these kind of things. And it's 58% black, the Memphis police force. It has a black female police chief who you would think would be working very, very hard to eradicate any officers who might behave like this. That unit's now been disbanded. Now we're looking at demands to go much, much further with changes in the law and with police reform.
