The Future of Java

Google is working on compiling Java code to WebAssembly for their web runtime. The startup time or the execution time of this thing that we were playing with was like seven seconds in JavaScript and two and a half in Wasm. We've seen at least two X speed improvements on a number of different tests, including tests that call into web APIs frequently. So it all sounds like we could eventually be to a point where we go, remember the JVM?We go, no, there's a big question. A lot of people that this is the way out of the JVM.
