The Argument for Monogamy
In the case of monogamy, you just have a top one and nothing else. People are monogamous because they want to protect their partners from jealousy and pain. The idea that I might have to restrain acting on my desires in order to protect another person because I love that person is pretty compelling. You can have feelings for more than one person at a time.
