Colorectal Cancer Rate Rises in the United States
The proportion of newly diagnosed individuals younger than 55 had nearly doubled across the past two and a half decades. Colorectal cancer is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths in both men and women. The US Preventive Services Task Force recommended lowering the age that adults start getting screened for colorectalcancer to 45 years old, which includes stool sample tests and colonoscopies.
