Did You Ever Start Your Broadcast With One Two?
Richard baker is best remembered in this country as the news reader. He read the early evening news and later the nine o'clock news on bby sea television. But he also was a regular broadcaster on the radio. And he used to do a programme called start the week. One of his sons told me that towards the end of his life, when he was living in some sheltered accommodation, he would er during the day, cut out articles from the newspaper. In his nineties, while every else was sitting having their evening meal, he would sit at the head of the table and read the news.
