Bird Flu in Wild Bird Populations
The virus can stay in the environment for six weeks at four degrees Celsius. A teaspoon of feces would be enough to kill an entire house of chickens or turkeys. There's been more than a dozen positive tests in pheasants. The RSPB said that we shouldn't be putting down these birds this year because we need to protect our native populations and game birds were released as usual.
