All of Jewish intellectual tradition is premised on that very idea that we have to read suspiciously. We know what Satan said to God, right? Like, we know that he's just playing a game here. My grandfather was assigned by his grandfather to read one of the commentaries of the toasts of the toasted of this and the commentary cites Rashi, the earlier commentator. And my grandfather recounts that his grandfather asked him. So what does Rashi say? And my grandfather said, what do you mean? What does Rashi says? The toasts of his just told us what Rashi said, and his grandfather asked: How do you know he's telling the truth?
