The Relationship Between Thoughts and Emotions
The old model in spirituality is that you would try to quiet your mind and even stop your thoughts. And I think one of the things we've learned in the last 20 or 30 years is that that is frigging not going to happen, or it's very, very difficult. So instead of trying to shut your mind off or shut your emotions off, is to be able to step out of them and into pure awareness. That seems to be a lot easier and a lot more effective.
