A third of british l g b t people have experienced abuse by their relatives. But that actually rises to over forty per cent for transpeople. Elgibiticc charity gallop, who did this, find that over 91 % of those who faced abuse or harassment by their relatives have long lasting negative repercussions. We know amongst elgibititi people that mental distress is significantly higher than the wider population. Also, drug and alcohol abuse, those are interlinked, because often that's a form of self medication for those who have suffered trauma.
