In early 2008, Obama said he would oppose any legislation to retroactively indemnify the telecommunications companies from colluding in illegal surveillance of American citizens. In mid 2008, just before he was coronated at the convention in Denver, he voted for the Pfizer Amendments Act which did precisely that, which indemnified the contractors. I figured the fix is in. It kind of makes you wonder, is the tail wagging the dog? Who's running the show here?
