The Impact of the Floods on the Aquifers

It would be expensive and probably impractical to fill a house with fresh water from the mains, what you could look at doing is filtering the water that flows in. So perhaps filtering it, actually filtering it through sandbags would remove a lot of the silt and mud that actually makes a mess of the inside of a house. But what about aquifers and groundwater levels rising adding to the flooding? The water that we get in our rivers is like our current bank account, so it's there and we're using it every day. This event has effectively filled up the aquifers. They weren't full in December, they were probably only about half full. That helped reduce the impact
