Bob Greene: Jeremy Segal made important contributions to the history of finance a long time ago. He's not famous for waving his arms around, screaming at the Federal Reserve; he's famous because he did original research. The 6.7% annual after inflation rate of return average of stock returns that is in that first edition data through 1992 from 1990 through through the bear market June 30th this year, the real return on stocks is 6.7%. This was three years ago. And yes, we're good. So it was very, a great relief to me to go on the fundamental things that I really believe in about market timing, history, staying invested in stocks for the long term
