Is There a Spectrum of Divergence Towards Convergence?

In this trend following world we exist in, there's we're not all the same breed, and there is is room to move. In my opinion, i lie on one side of the spectrum, and i'd say jack lies on the otherside of the spectrum. We get large, expeditial rising trends. We can get outlies of of almost an approximate regression line for many years. So because of the different forms of outlier in this exotic region i'm focused on, which the this tail region of returns, i need very simple systems.
