The Society for Assistant Reproductive Technology does 250 IVF cycles a year. About 125,000 embryos transferred results in about 50,000 babies every year born. There's plenty of data now demonstrating adverse effects to the mother and children. The oldest IVF offspring is in their 40s; we don't fully understand the health effects that could be coming with these offspring.
