WADA's own research in 2013 showed that they're only catching 2% of drug cheats and when you throw out the athletes who are busted for marijuana and asthma medicine it's less than 1%. So they're fairly ineffective. They themselves admit that look you can't stop doping by simply plucking out athletes because this is a social, nationalistic and economic problem. It's not just Lance Armstrong or Ben Johnson or Floyd Landis. You can pluck those guys out all day but the structural forces persist and it's very difficult to address those. I think as fans, it's important to reconceptualize it, drugs are not a new cancer, not something that is corrupting
