Other countries have banned them because they say that the Confucius Institutes are part of essentially the Chinese Communist Party's foreign influence arm, it's propaganda. What can seem as friendly as Chinese language lessons for free or something like that in Toronto or Vancouver or elsewhere in schools can be according to Western intelligence an arm of Chinese intelligence. So that's why Confucius institutes are of such importance to Beijing's international United Front plans. And what are these fake protests about?
