The Story of the Woman Saved From Stoning
The woman saved from stoning is often told as the woman caught in adultery. Bible scholars will be very snobby about this story because it doesn't actually, it wasn't original in John. But what you see going on here is basically like the scapegoat story in miniature. The religious leaders bring a woman to Jesus and they're accusing her of adultery.
