Law is about mediating the relationships of property or market actors and resources, i would imagine. Disputes are between real, live human being, actors who use physical bodies to manipulate things. Two people can ant, can desire to use same tool at the same time. And unless they come to some agreement about which one properly has the right to use it, then the solution has to be physical violence,. fighting like so it might makes a brutal world of chaos.
