The Politics of Private Development in America
I think what's gone wrong with American planning is that we micromanage the private realm. Right. So if you want to build anything like the minor details of that are going to be regulated down to, you know, inches of setback and and facade materials,. then the public realm, we kind of just let it go completely handed over to cars. You know, I mean, I think this is especially acute and in place like LA, right? The exact opposite of pre zoning planning.
