The Arabs contributed a lot to the Greek sciences and philosophy they had acquired or inherited from the Greeks. A library in Códoba of the Caliph could have an estimated 100,000 titles. And we know that it had more than 40 volumes of catalogue only. It's like you get to go to the Library of Congress to do your research instead of your local public library effectively.
