Can Nation Building Ever Work?

I'd be very curious if soldiers who were on the ground would say, totally worth it. Can that ever work? I remean i remember the the purple fingers when they would vote, andtht how how successful that was. They had a first democratic election in afghanistan,. It's like, and it just slid right back because of the people in the country. And so i guess, as i get older, and i wonder if the generation before me, saw this coming, was just like, how are you going to do this again? Like, what what is the belief? How is this going? What's the end game that where this goes?
