The Agenus and the Social Order of the Greeks
The Agenus understands that the old social order was premised in some sense on the nobility as this sort of intercessor between man and God. The fact that they had it in them to behave in a cowardly manner, in a dishonest manner, shows that they were not noble in their soul, he writes. In so anyway, he writes, quote, none of the men on earth is born free of guilt. Of the men the sun looks down upon, there is no man entirely good and moderate, end quote.
