Kale steed: Why are some people more prone to addiction than others? Is there anyty answer for that? There is a genetic component to lindon, i think a lot of our cultures or individual backgrounds play a role in it. So tragically, indigenous populations in america have the highest rate of substance abuse. And those who identify as a sexual minority have higher percentage than any other group.

"Addiction doesn't have to be a bummer!," quoth addictionologist Erin Parisi, who has some uplifting and hopeful tales from her professional life.
