How Your Eyes Don't Work

Your eyes are connected to other parts of your brain that don't have much to do with direct, conscious, visual perception. When i look at someone, i map the way that their body is on to my body so that i can feel it. That helps me understand who you are. And if you put a galvanometer on your hand and then show people a frightening picture, because you conduct a little electrical resistance, they will change pretty quickly in emotional response. You just measure electrical resistance in the palm of the hand that can change pretty quickly with emotion. So we can take that apart, cause it it tells you how perception works. It takes a tremendous amount of work.
