Up to 44% of Nolipares women and close to 47% of multi-pairs women were able to deliver vaginally without ever getting close to the 200 Montevideo unit cut off. Some obstetrical providers whether it's a physician, the nurse or the midwife feel just more comfortable using an intrauterine pressure catheter in the setting of a toe lack. But is that any safer? Well, the short answer is unfortunately no because all of the studies that have been done on this have not been able to document any increased safety profile with the use of an IUPC.
