I realize one of the keys to success and happiness in life is getting up early in the morning. I have to rise with the sun. The monks in the himales are very clear about these things. If it cannot force the body olse, it gives in. And that's why every kind of practice which leads to difficulties,. It comes from our lower nature, which has not signed up for that. Which does not respond to knowledge and insights lectures and seminars, books and philosophy. Can the intellect do anything by itself? No. So repetition, abasa. Why don't you practise the yoga of abasa? There's nothing than the yoga of repetition.
The mind is very restless, turbulent, strong and obstinate, O Krishna. It appears to me that it is more difficult to control than the wind" - Bhagavad Gita (6.34)
"Lord Krishna said: O mighty-armed son of Kunti, what you say is correct; the mind is indeed very difficult to restrain. But by practice and detachment, it can be controlled" - Bhagavad Gita (6.35)
Inspired by these verses, Swami Sarvapriyananda provides invaluable guidance on improving our meditation.
