In the early 1940s, Heddi developed a system that could map each note to a new frequency. It would then hop between two player piano scrolls at the same time. That is the origin of Spread Spectrum Technology. In World War II, Claude Shannon was working on code breaking for the Allies. He intersected with luminaries like Albert Einstein, John von Neumann and Alan Turing.
