The ideal employee works really hard when they're in the office, and then goes home at a reasonable time. Research shows that if managers truly disconnect on their vacation, employees are more likely to do it too. We need to set a cultural norm that that's not what the ideal employee looks like. And we find that employees who take time every week to priortize their own work and their life outside of work report being 30 to forty ent more focused on tasks at work.
