The Pan-African Cinema
It started when I was invited to coordinate a film festival that was held in London, Festival of Third Cinema back in 1983. So you kept the material from that as a souvenir? Well, partly as a... No, no, no, I didn't keep it as a curator. I was showing this material at different festivals around the world. And what do you understand by the term Pan-African? Because I noticed there are sort of Indian film posters here. There's Latin American film posters here too. Yes, yes. You knew already that you wanted to start to build a collection! It was to do with Third Cinema, so it was cinema of Latin America, Black British cinema
