The Spousal Meaning of the Body

St. John Paul: Creation is a gift because man appears in it who, as an image of God, is able to understand the very meaning of the gift. The body he thinks is a witness to this gift because it is also a witness to the love from which the original gift of creation springs. Men and women through their bodies are able to live this gift with each other in a unique way. For him, marriage is intended not only for biological procreation, but in fact, to propagate the gift of creation through the gift of self to one generation to another.
